How it works
Net tax = your estimated tax for the year minus TDS and TCS. If net tax is ₹10,000 or more, pay it in advance:
- 15% by 15 June, 45% by 15 September, 75% by 15 December and 100% by 15 March (cumulative).
- If you use presumptive income (44AD or 44ADA), pay 100% by 15 March.
- A resident aged 60 or more with no business or professional income does not pay advance tax (s.403(3) of the 2025 Act).
Work out your yearly tax with the income tax calculator. More detail: advance tax.
Things to know
- Paying late or short attracts interest under ss.424 and 425 of the Income-tax Act, 2025 (the old 234B and 234C). This tool does not work out interest.
